Begin your seven-day adventure of Kenya’s highlights at the iconic Giraffe Manor located in Nairobi. Famous for its resident herd of Rothschild giraffe that casually wander around the spectacular grounds, be prepared to say hello to one if they lean in the windows at breakfast time for a sneaky treat.
This is the only place in the world where you can eat breakfast with giraffe, see them from your bedroom window and spot them from the front door, too! This is truly a unique and one-of-a-kind experience and is the best start to any Kenyan itinerary.
Overnight: Giraffe Manor
*Note - if you want to include Giraffe Manor in your itinerary, you will need to book well in advance (18 months+).
Leave Nairobi on a light aircraft flight to Samburu Kalama Airstrip in the Samburu National Reserve, where a guide will collect and drive you to Saruni Samburu. The camp boasts beautiful, open and spacious rooms, heralding spectacular views over Kalama Conservancy. The camp is set in the mountains of the Kalama Conservancy that adjoins with the Samburu National Reserve. It boasts two swimming pools, one of which overlooks a waterhole where elephant, giraffe and zebra are often seen drinking in the morning and late afternoon.
Saruni Samburu’s guides are from the Samburu tribe and know the area inside out. Samburu is home to incredible numbers of wildlife, and game drives are always an exciting and rewarding activity while spending time in this region. After spending a few days in the luxurious surroundings of Saruni Samburu, you’ll fly onward to a true safari gem in the Greater Masai Mara.
Overnight: Saruni Samburu
After breakfast, depart to Kalama Airstrip and catch a light aircraft flight to the beautiful Naboisho Conservancy, part of the Greater Masai Mara region. A guide will meet you here, and drive you back to Naboisho Camp, stopping to enjoy any wildlife sightings on the way and arriving in time to enjoy lunch in your new surroundings. Morning and afternoon shared activities are available for you to enjoy during your stay. Game drives, walking safaris and cultural visits to the local Maasai community are all on offer. Should you wish, you can visit one of the camp’s partner charities, the Maa Trust, which works to empower local communities. Alternatively, you can also visit the Kenya Wildlife Trust, which studies and conserves predators in the Greater Mara region.
There’s time for a siesta during the heat of the day or to enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool with a cool drink in your hand. Afternoon tea will be served, after which you can go out on a late-game drive. The Naboisho Conservancy is home to a spectacular array of wildlife including good populations of lion, leopard and cheetah, herds of elephant and buffalo, and much more.
Overnight: Naboisho Camp
After breakfast, pack your bags and meet your guide for a 45-minute game drive to Mara Ol Seki Airstrip.
