Set in landscaped gardens, elevated high above Murchison Falls on the north side of the River Nile is the Paraa Safari Lodge.
At these Falls the 40-metre / 131-foot-wide River Nile, on its journey from Lake Victoria’s source to join Lake Albert, is suddenly compressed into a gorge only six metres / 20 feet wide and cascades into a ‘boiling pot’ 43m / 141ft below.
Activities that can be enjoyed during a stay at Paraa Safari Lodge include game drives, and a launch cruise to the base of the falls as well as to the Nile delta at Lake Albert. These activities are good opportunities for sightings of hippo, crocodile, plains game and a wide variety of birdlife.
