Day 1: The Adventure Begins!

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will receive a VIP Meet and Greet before being transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Here you can rest up after your international flight and and meet your guides who will talk you through the plan for the adventure to come.

Depending on your international flight arrival time, you could head straight to Ngorongoro on arrival. Alternatively, there are some wonderful local activities around Arusha and the Kilimanjaro area if you want to take the day to explore.

Overnight at The African Tulip.

Day 2-3: Ngorongoro Crater

The next morning, begin your journey through northern Tanzania as you visit the Masai Boma at Mto Wa Mbu village and market, stopping for a local lunch and a village walk. Alternatively, game drive through Lake Manyara National Park before continuing to the Ngorongoro. Both the Comfort and Luxury options include lodges in the Karatu region just outside the park. Karatu provides a fantastic, cost-effective base for exploring the Ngorongoro crater, but there are also camps along the crater rim if you preferred to stay within the park itself. Staying within the park itself provides incredible views over the crater and early access to the crater floor for safari, but is a bit more expensive than staying Karatu. Some o four favourites inside the park are Entamanu Ngorongoro, Lion's Paw Camp, or Lemala Ngorongoro.

The next day you have a full day on safari in the Ngorongoro Crater. What once was a fiery, lava strewn, inhospitable area is now home to 25,000 large animals, including lion, black rhino, elephant, and giraffes. After a day on safari in the crater, transfer back to your lodge for sundowners before dinner.

Overnight at Acacia Farm Lodge.

Day 4-6: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip to connect with a light aircraft flight into the Serengeti. The migration moves throughout the season and many of the camps move throughout the year to track the herds. If you are travelling from mid-December to April, we will drive you into the Serengeti. If you are travelling between July to October, you'll take a light aircraft flight into northern Serengeti.

Either way, you’ll be in prime position to witness the Great Migration. If you are travelling between July - October, you have a great chance to witness a river crossing, one of the most impressive wildlife experiences on earth. Thousands of wildebeest charge across the Mara and Grumeti rivers, attempting to avoid the crocs lurking under the murky waters and the big cats waiting on the other side.

Spend the next 3 nights on safari in the Serengeti, heading out on morning and afternoon game drives and hoping to see a river crossing! If you have some budget flexibility, it can be worth adding an extra night in the Serengeti to maximise your chances of seeing a crossing.

Overnight at Nasikia Mobile Migration Camp.

Day 7: Return Home

As your adventure draws to a close - but not before a final coffee overlooking the savannah - transfer to the airstrip to connect with a light aircraft flight back to Kilimanjaro. Connect with your international flight home.
